വീടിനോടു ചേർന്നുള്ള തൊടിയിൽ മുറ്റത്തേക്ക് ചാഞ്ഞ് പടര്‍ന്നു നില്‍ക്കുന്ന പ്ലാവിന്റെ മുകളിൽ കിടക്കുന്ന ഒരു ചക്ക, മുളേന്തോട്ടിയുടെ അറ്റത്ത് അരിവാള്‍ വയ്ച്ച് കെട്ടി, സര്‍ക്കസ് കൂടാരത്തിലെ ട്രിപ്പീസ് കളിക്കാരന്‍റെ ശ്രദ്ധയോടെയും, വലിച്ചുകെട്ടിയ കയറിനു മുകളിലൂടെ നടക്കുന്ന അഭ്യാസിയുടെ മെയ് വഴക്കത്തോടെയും ചക്ക വലിച്ച് താഴെയിട്ട് , വെട്ടിമുറിച്ച് ചകിണി കളഞ്ഞ് അരിഞ്ഞ് നല്ല അരപ്പും ചേർത്ത് പുഴുങ്ങി മീൻ കറിയും കൂട്ടി ആസ്വദിച്ച് കഴിക്കുന്നതിനിടയിലാണ് ഭാര്യയുടെ ചോദ്യം '' ത്രേസ്യാമ്മാമ്മ വയ്യാതിരിക്കുവേല്ലേ ഒന്നു പോയി കാണത്തില്ലാരുന്നോ കുറേ നാളായില്ലയോ പോയിട്ട് - " കാര്യം ശരി തന്നെ ജോലി തിരക്കും മറ്റ്‌ തിരക്കുകളുമൊക്കെ കാരണം ത്രേസ്യാമ്മാമ്മയെ കാണാൻ പോയിട്ട് കാലം കുറേ ആയി.  "നാളെ രാവിലത്തെ കുർബാന കൂടിയേച്ച് ഞാൻ അവിടേം കേറിയേച്ച് വന്നോളാം... ഇപ്പൊ സന്ധ്യ ആയില്ലേ." പള്ളിയിലെ ആദ്യ കുർബാന കഴിഞ്ഞ് പുറത്തിറങ്ങി. " ആ ജോസ് മോനോ?... ഇങ്ങോട്ടൊന്നും കാണാനേ ഇല്ലല്ലോ.... തിരുവന്തോരത്ത്ന്ന് എപ്പ വന്നു - ? " കാണുന്നവർക്കെല്ലാം ചോദിക്കാൻ ഈ ചോദ്യമേ ഉള്ളോ?... മനസിൽ പിറുപിറുത്ത...

പുലർകാലെ അഞ്ചരയോടടുക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞങ്ങൾ കോട്ടപ്പാറ മലയുടെ മുകളിലാണ്. വലിയ തിരക്കു തന്നെയാണ് ഈ കുന്നിൻ മുകളിൽ. മലമുകളിലെ ഇടുങ്ങിയ വീഥിയുടെ ഇരുവശങ്ങളിലും വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ നീണ്ട നിര തന്നെയുണ്ടെങ്കിലും വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും നിരനിരയായി സഞ്ചാരികളുടെ വാഹനങ്ങൾ കുന്നുകയറി എത്തിക്കൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുകയാണ്. വാഹനങ്ങളുടെ വെളിച്ചവും ഒന്നോ രണ്ടോ ചെറിയ മാടക്കടയിലെ അരണ്ടവെളിച്ചവുമൊഴിച്ചാൽ കോട്ടപ്പാറ ഇരുളിന്റെ കയത്തിൽത്തന്നെയാണ്.  മഞ്ഞിൻ കണങ്ങളെ താലോലിച്ച് നാണം കുണുങ്ങി നിൽക്കുന്ന പുൽനാമ്പുകൾ പാദത്തെ  തഴുകി തലോടുന്ന നടപ്പു വഴിയിലൂടെ, മൊബൈൽ ടോർച്ചിനെ നുറുങ്ങുവെട്ടത്തിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ  ആയിരക്കണക്കിനു കണ്ണുകൾ മഞ്ഞിന്റെ വിസ്മയം വിരിയുന്നത് കാണാൻ കാത്തു നിൽക്കുന്ന കുന്നിൻ ചരിവിലേക്കെത്തി . അധിക കാലമായിട്ടില്ല കോട്ടപ്പാറ ഇത്ര ഫേമസ് ആയിട്ട് . ഒന്നു രണ്ട് വർഷങ്ങൾക്കു മുൻപ് സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങളിലൂടെ നാട്ടിൽ പരന്ന കോട്ടപ്പാറയുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങളും വീഡിയോകളും എഴുത്തുകളുമാണ് കോട്ടപ്പാറ തേടിയെത്തുന്നവരുടെ ഒഴുക്കിന് തുടക്കമിടുന്നത്.  പുലർച്ചെ ഏഴ് ഏഴര വരെ മാത്രം തെളിയുന്ന മത്തിന്റെ മാസ്മരിക കാഴ്ച്ച ഡിസംബർ ജനുവരി മാസങ്ങളിലാ...

Meenuliyan Para is a mountain peak situated near Thodupuzha in Idukki district. Meenuliyan para is noted for a huge rock that rises more than 4000 feet and has about two acres of evergreen forest on top of it. The rock itself covers an area more than 500 acres. The surface of this huge rock mountain looks like fish scales and hence the mountain gets the name ‘ Meenuliyan Para’. The lofty peaks of the Meenuliyan para are covered in mist on rainy days but on a fine day the lower Periyar area, Bhoothathankettu and even Ernakulam are visible from these heights. Meenuliyan para is located 47 km from Muvattupuzha and 51 km from Thodupuzha. Meenuliyan para can be reached only by a pedestrian path for about 3 km from Pattayakkudy, in Vannappuram Panchayath in Idukki district. Andhakaranazhy Beach - Fishing Boat Andhakaranazhy (Andhakaranazhi) is a coastal village located 4 km west of Pattanakkad under Pattanakkad Panchayath under Cherthala Taluk. It is famous for its beach which draws a number of domestic and international tourists. Andhakaranazhy Beach An azhy similar to an isthmus, is a sand sedimentation formed by the constant action of seawater where the backwaters merge into the sea. Two barges having large mechanized shutters are erected near the north and south end of the azhy. These shutters, operated by traction motors, help to regulate the flow of saline water entering into the neighboring paddy fields of Thuravoor, Pattanakkad, Ezhupunna, and Kuthiathode panchayats connected to thbackwaters. Water is released into the sea by lifting these shutters to prevent flooding in these paddy fields during excessive rains. Palaikari Aqua Tourism Centre has become one of the famous Tourism destinations in Kottayam. The statue of a ‘beautiful mermaid sitting on a rock in the first pond’ at the entrance welcomes the tourist.
